Splenda has been officially listed as a carcinogen

Writing Area Leader

If you added the sucralose artificial sweetener (Splenda brand called) to your diet because it considers a healthy alternative to sugar, they are dangerously deluded.
Ramazzini Institute research has linked the popular alternative to sugar with cancer, specifically leukemia .
In 2012, the results were first presented at a cancer conference in London and asked the Center for Science in the Public Interest (CSPI, for its acronym in English) down to Splenda your "safe" category one of "caution".
Now that the study has been published in a peer-reviewed journal, the CSPI has degraded the Splenda again, this time in the category of "caution" to "avoid".
In a study, researchers fed mice with Splenda from before birth and so continued throughout his life.
a significantly greater amount of cancerous tumors in male mice was observed, and the risk increased with dose
Splenda Found in 4 500 products
If you want to follow the warnings and remove Splenda from your diet, consider that in more than 4 500 products. Splenda is marketed with elegance, and is best known for its slogan "made from sugar, so it tastes like sugar."
It has earned the reputation of being somehow safer than other artificial sweeteners like aspartame, which is the reason why PepsiCo got rid of aspartame in its Diet Pepsi in 2015 and replaced with Splenda.
Splenda became one of the most artificial sweeteners sold in the United States in a very short period of time. Between 2000 and 2004, the percentage of US households using Splenda products soared from 3% to 20%. By 2012, Splenda generated sales of nearly 288 million.
But make no mistake, Splenda is far from natural, although technically begins as a sugar molecule In the process patented five steps to sucralose, three chlorine molecules to one molecule of sucrose or sugar are added.
This type of sugar molecule does not occur in nature, and therefore the body does not have the ability to metabolize properly. As a result of this "unique" biochemical composition, the manufacturers claim that Splenda is not digested or metabolized by the body, which means it has zero calories.
It is assumed that Splenda is easily discarded. However, research (mainly extrapolated from animal studies) indicates that in fact, about 15% of sucralose is absorbed by the digestive system and is ultimately stored in your body.
If the likely outcomes of cancer are not enough to sway him away from this toxic artificial sweetener, be aware that Splenda could wreak havoc on their gut bacteria, which can have an incalculable number of health consequences .
For example, an animal study published in Journal of Toxicology and Environmental Health, Splenda discovered that reduces the amount of beneficial bacteria in the intestines of rats by 50%, while also increasing the pH level.
Splenda raises insulin levels
Far from being an inert substance, research also shows that Splenda affects insulin response in the body. When the study participants took a drink sweetened with Splenda, their insulin levels increased by 20% higher than when they consumed only water before taking a test of glucose tolerance.
Also, levels of blood sugar peaked at the top level, "So the artificial sweetener was associated with a greater response to glucose and insulin in the blood," the researchers said.
When you eat something sweet, your brain releases dopamine, which activates the reward center of the brain. Also released leptin, appetite - regulating hormone, which eventually tells your brain that you are "full" once you have consumed a certain amount of calories .
However, when consumed something that tastes sweet but contains no calories, as an artificial sweetener, your brain pathways of pleasure are activated by the sweet taste, then there is nothing to clear it, the calories never come.
Basically, artificial sweeteners trick the body into thinking it will receive sugar (calories), but when sugar does not fit, your body continues to signs that need more, causing carbohydrate cravings .
Will there Artificial Sweeteners Safer?
Two of the best sugar substitutes come from the plant kingdom: the Stevia and Luo Han Guo (also written as Luo Han Kuo). Stevia is a sweet herb derived from the leaf of the stevia plant in South America, it is sold as a supplement. It is safe completamento in its natural form and can be used to sweeten most dishes and drinks.
Luo Han Kuo is similar to Stevia, but is a bit more expensive and harder to find. In China, Luo Han fruit has been used as a sweetener for centuries, and is approximately 200 times sweeter than sugar.
