Summary Latinoamericano / AlManar / September 16, 2017 - A senior Russian official said on Tuesday that Daesh, which is about to be defeated, has transferred funds controlled in Iraq and Syria to foreign countries, including Europe territories.

The Daesh, anticipating defeat, has begun to transfer funds from controlled in both Arab countries to foreign states territories, including Europeans, said deputy director of the Department of New Challenges and Threats of the Russian Foreign Ministry Dimitri Feoktistov.

"If earlier you mentioned the fact that the Daesh accumulates finances in the controlled territories, now apparently and in anticipation of the impending defeat and loss of its territories has begun to transfer funds in the opposite direction, including European countries," Feoktistov in Rome, where he went to a meeting of the Financial Action Task Force (FATF).

"It is clear that these funds will be used to support Daesh cells and to carry out terrorist attacks in Europe and elsewhere," the diplomat said.

The same issue was raised by the EU commissioner, Julian King, last week. He said there is a possibility that militants Daesh to transfer their funds to support terrorist activities in the countries of the European Union amid losses in Syria and Iraq.
