Egypt responds with aerial attacks to the deadliest attack in the modern history of the country

The Egyptian Air Force attacked jihadist positions in the Sinai Peninsula in response to the  terrorist attack  in a Sufi mosque in Al Rawda, which killed 235 people. As a result of the air strikes, 30 Islamic Statemilitants   lost their lives.

On Friday, a group of terrorists attacked a mosque near the village of Bir al Abed, detonated a bomb and opened fire on the parishioners in what became the deadliest attack against civilians in modern Egyptian history.
The country's president, Abdel Fattah al Sisi, called for a "brutal" response to the attackers of the mosque and ordered aerial actions against terrorist positions. The attack has not yet been claimed by any extremist group.
"What is happening is an attempt to stop our efforts in the fight against terrorism, to destroy our efforts to put an end to the terrible criminal plan that  aims to destroy what remains of our region, " Al Sisi said.
Security sources reported that the Egyptian Air Force carried out attacks in northern Sinai, near Bir al Abed. The attacks were concentrated in several mountainous areas where militants are believed to hide.
