The Illuminati has comparisons with other secret society named Freemasonry, because Adam Weishaupt used the building blocks of Freemasonry, but with his own agenda. Weishaupt was very anti-clerical. Anti-clerical is a movement that is turning against the influence or dominance of the clergy (the spirituality) resolving to spread the ideals of the Enlightenment (Aufklärung) through some sort of secret society of like-minded individuals. However the Illuminati’s first original name was Bund der Perfektibilisten meaning Covenant of Perfectibility. But they quickly changed the name into Illuminatenorden, or Order of Illuminati because it sounded a bit weird. 1785 “seems to have been deathblow to the Illuminati in Bavaria” because secret societies has been banned by the Bavarians. Was this really the end? Because Adam Weishaupt had fled with all the documents.
