How Duterte get away with making the rich and powerful? It's simple. It has a high rate of popular approval of 83%  nationwide. The oligarchs can not use the media to destroy it because people do not trust what the media say. 

People trust Duterte because unlike generations of politicians who came before him, actually does what it says. Its clear language infuriates those who rule in the West, who have waged war against him through their channels of propaganda in the media.
