According to CCOO, the manipulation of information has been the reason why RTVE has been left without representation.

The new candidate of Sánchez, Maria Diaz Ibáñez, has not obtained the confidence of the Committee of Informative of the EBU due to the negative reports of international professional organizations on the independence of the information of TVE, as it collects Infolibre , which is translated in a "manipulation of information", according to the union of CCOO of RTVE.

The reason given by RTVE to remove the previous president of the EBU, which had been awarded several prizes and whose presence prestige RTVE and recognition, was that it preferred to have "someone closer to the current direction" . It should be noted that Asunción Gómez was unanimously elected by the members of the EBU and that this body urged TVE to "reconsider its decision to withdraw Asuncion Gómez Bueno from his post before the end of his term."

A severe blow to the international vision of RTVE

José Antonio Sánchez said on February 26, 2015 in the Joint Parliamentary Control Committee of the CRTVE that "Radiotelevisión Española has not resigned any position in the EBU and therefore, the Corporation already has another new representative there and does not pass absolutely nothing. However, his statement does not correspond to reality, since the CRTVE does not have powers to appoint members directly to the EBU, since all its members are to be elected. The forced resignation of Asunción Gómez Bueno supposes the loss of a position of great importance in the largest association of Europe of public organizations of radio and television, and the decision of not to choose the person proposed by Sánchez took place after the critics poured by numerous international professional organizations for lack of impartiality and independence in CRTVE.
