Israel prohibits group of MEPs enter Gaza
Tel Aviv regime has prevented five European parliamentarians from entering the Gaza Strip while the Palestinian enclave remains under inhumane Israeli siege.
In a statement released Wednesday, Neoklis Sylikiotis, Cypriot MEP (MEP), denounced the Israeli obstruction European legislators access to the Palestinian coastal strip.
"The refusal of the Israeli authorities to allow MEPs enter Gaza for arbitrary reasons authorities is unacceptable," the statement said.
Similar European delegations have been excluded from Gaza since 2011, although a team led by the head of the European Parliament Budget Committee was able to visit the enclave once, the statement added.
He urged the international community to pressure the regime in Tel Aviv to lift the blockade of Gaza, which has been in force since June 2007 and affects nearly two million people living in Gaza.
