First an introduction:
In 2016 Catalunya sold abroad by 48.1%
In the Catalan territory it was 23.2%
And in Spain only 28.7% of the total.
Compared to last year, the foreign market rose + 2%, Catalan + 0.5% and Spanish fell -1.7%.
That is, every time the Catalans sell less to Spain, ergo is becoming less important the Spanish market.
Making history:
In the period 1995-2001 Spain represented 39% of the Catalan trade.
2002-2009 fell to 36%.
2010-2013: 32%
2014: 30%
2015: 29%
2016: 28%
(Rounded percentages)
Of the 27% that represented the foreign trade in the period 1995-2001 we have passed to 48% in 2016 ...
OF EVERY PERCENTAGE POINT THAT HAS BEEN LOST WITH SPAIN, TWO ARE GAINED IN THE WORLD.
In other words:
Every euro that Spain has stopped buying from the Catalans has gotten two euros abroad ...
Well, because c-intereg has already published data for the first quarter of 2017:
At the bottom of the image you can see the percentages for the first quarter (T-1 2017).
You can see that the sale of Catalan products abroad has increased by + 13.6%.
Of the community itself + 8.1% and in the Spanish market +4.3% ...
Catalonia sells more than ever outside its borders and Spain.
If these numbers were maintained throughout the year, 2017 would end up with almost half of what Catalonia sells would be abroad (49.8%),
Catalonia itself 22.9%
Spain 27.3%
