If you are a natural person (that is, employees), the ISR pays indirectly through the retentions made by your employer, and the rate goes up (the more you earn, the higher the rate), and can reach up to 35% . This 35% is applied, direct and without petroleum, on the gross income, (not like the companies, which pay 30% on income minus expenses, natural persons pay 35% direct or on income)
At the end of the year you can make your famous annual declaration of natural persons, and rescue some of what they held you throughout the year.
How does it work?
Well, basically you tell the SAT to return a portion of the withheld ISR, based on your "expenses" that you had in the year. You think it's like the moral persons (that is, you put almost all your expenses in the statement and the SAT returns the percentage of ISR proportionally withheld).
It is not like this! When you are a natural person there are many limitations so that your expenses are accepted by the SAT as "valid or deductible for an individual".
1.- they have to be covered by a CFDI
2.- Almost all must be paid by card or transfer (not cash)
3. - Unlike the moral people, who put chingos of expenses to decrease their tax base, (as I put above, for a moral person, the law of ISR says that the concept of expenditure is any that is done with the objective of the operation of the business ... that is, almost everything!),
4.- For individuals, the law says "petals" and as acceptable expenses come a handful of things (medical expenses and hospitals, funeral, school, insurance policies for medical expenses, interest on your mortgage, and it was all ).
5 .- And to finish it off, these expenses are met in 2 ways (form one, some are stuck up to a certain amount for each concept of expenditure.) And form two [if you did not fuck with the form 1], the total sum of these expenses can not exceed 10% of your total income for the year).
> If you are lucky that the SAT accepts your expenses as "deductible or valid", nothing else lets you put the equivalent of 10% of your income as expenses, and over the remaining 90% you have to pay 35% of ISR.
Now, leave more salt to your wound.
In the best of scenarios, in terms of ISR, the government takes away 35% of 90% of your income.
(Let's say you earn $ 100 x 90% x 35% = Only $ 68.5 left for you). Remember this number ... Now, in addition, from the ISR you pay 21% VAT on most of your expenses (which are not deductible for the SAT), you also pay IEPS, you pay the property to the Municipality, you pay tenure and you endorse the State, you pay IMSS fees for a medical service. Then, of these $ 68.5 euros that you had net of ISR, how much will remain subtracting VAT, IEPS, property, tenure, endorsements and IMSS ??? 40? 30?
That's why the two famous sayings come:
"Of every peso you earn as an employee, most of it goes in taxes and less than half is for you."
"The spending of the country is on the shoulders of the salaried middle class"
And then, you said, no mame wey! We live in a first world country !!!! But nel, the truth is that more than half of your salary is stolen by politicians.
I share with love
