En una important victòria per a l'administració Trump, un tribunal federal a Califòrnia va dictaminar que  la seva prohibició de viatjar pot entrar parcialment en vigència, permetent als funcionaris impedir l'ingrés a individus de sis països si aquests individus no tenen vincles amb els Estats Units. 

Segons  Reuters  , un panell de tres jutges en la novena Cort d'Apel·lacions del Circuit d'Estats Units a San Francisco va dictaminar dilluns que  una mesura cautelar temporal d'un tribunal inferior sobre la prohibició de viatge revisada emesa per l'administració Trump el 24 de setembre podria bloquejar temporalment.

Això li permetria a l'administració Trump prohibir l'entrada als Estats Units a possibles viatgers de Txad, l'Iran, Líbia, Somàlia, Síria i el Iemen, tots els països amb problemes de seguretat i / o terrorisme, que no tenen connexions formals amb el país . Estats Units.
