Estas inopinadas declaraciones para provenir de un oficial israelí se pronunciaron en una mesa redonda, a la que también asistió el exministro de asuntos militares Moshe Yaalon, según ha recogido este lunes el diario local Jerusalem Post.

Halutz, en clara oposición a las autoridades del régimen de Tel Aviv, que siempre han exigido la salida inmediata de Al-Asad, por ejemplo, el actual ministro de asuntos militares, Avigdor Lieberman, opina que Israel debería “dejar que (el presidente sirio) termine con su trabajo contra los grupos terroristas que luchan en su contra”.

Desde que estallara el conflicto sirio en 2011, Israel se ha convertido en una gran fuente de apoyo médico y militar para los grupos armados sirios que atentan contra el Gobierno legítimo de Damasco, incluso para los grupos terroristas.

Además, el ejército israelí ha realizado constantes ataques aéreos y de artillería contra las posiciones de las fuerzas gubernamentales sirias. El Gobierno sirio acusa a Tel Aviv de atacar sus posiciones para facilitar las actividades de los grupos armados y terroristas.
